I attended Wolverhampton Art College in the late sixties but never pursued a career in Art. I qualified as Psychiatric Nurse and spent the major part of my working years working for the NHS and various Mental Health Charities. Now that I am retired I am able to fulfil the promise I made to myself to take up painting again.
I love bold colours and like to apply paint freely with an emphasis on showing the brush marks. I feel that painting is an ongoing learning process and this belief shakes my out of my inherent complacency. I love the work of David Hockney, Tom Thomson and the Fauvists.
