I have enjoyed drawing and painting from an early age through to A level art and beyond. Following the common creative wilderness imposed by work, marriage and children it was wonderful to have the freedom to paint again on retirement.
Having completed the C & G Diploma in Watercolour and Design in 2009, I explored other forms of media and practice through various courses and workshops including life drawing and portraiture.
These collective experiences culminated in a desire to try the many different and innovative forms of media resulting in an eclectic body of work, which is strongly influenced by a love of the natural world.
I not only love to paint atmospheric landscapes, seascapes and woodlands, but also to experiment with mixed media to produce exciting and surprising effects. My work ranges from the semi-representational to the semi-abstract, from soft pastel hues to vibrant and colourful abstracts.
I look forward to the benefits of being part of the Artwey community of artists.
