Marian’s primary interest is in drawing, though she enjoys exploring subjects in other media, currently screenprinting and woodcut.

Legends and fables provide inspiration, as do cats, the weather and people in the street.

She is currently working on a series of pieces inspired by the Shipping Forecast and a visit to the bleak landscape of the Faeroes.

I trained as an art teacher at what is now part of Hope University in Liverpool.

Having slid off the art wagon in recent years, I have now scrambled back on and am picking up new skills, courtesy of a print group, a Fine Art course and the space and freedom afforded by an empty nest and retirement. I have developed an interest in screenprinting in addition to painting with oils and acrylics.

Current work includes illustrations for a series of adult readers and private portrait commissions.
