Born in Scotland in 1970, I live in Fordington, with my working cocker, Isla.
Outdoors with my spaniel for much of the day, it’s not uncommon for me to return from a run at Maiden Castle or the Water Meadows having encountered something I’ve found funny or quirky, with a new verse tapped into my phone, ready to be turned into a painting, and printed to frame. Following the attitude of Mary Newcomb who once remarked “it’s not a portrait, it’s an idea”, my latest work is simple in technique, but remains authentic in character. For me, it’s always about the story.
