Abstract painting based on the West Dorset landscape and its alignments of Neolithic monuments.

Inspired by the experience of walking among these monuments and feeling a connection to the past, but also by the idea of placing something circular and manmade in the landscape, and what that does to the space around it.

Emily works near Maiden Castle and often walks from there up onto the Ridgeway between Weymouth and Dorchester, where there are many ancient monuments.

She is currently painting in acrylic and experimenting with screen-printing onto the canvas as part of that process.
