I work mainly with fleece, yarns and fibres, using different felting techniques to create 2D and 3D pieces. It always fascinates me how such seemingly delicate fleece can be manipulated to create a tough, durable fabric.

Most of my inspiration comes from the colours and textures of our natural world. I take a painterly approach when creating my 2D pieces. Before starting a piece, I prepare my ‘palette’ by selecting the colours to work with and then laying down the ‘ground’. This is worked on, blending the colours to create a multiplicity of shades and tones. I add detail using needle felting techniques.
