Bill produces functional domestic thrown stoneware pottery. The bowls and dishes are designed to be useful as well as decorative.
Bill has been heavily influenced by prehistoric pottery. He works with the Ancient Wessex Network exploring traditional methods of pottery production.
He uses low technology firing techniques to make replicas of Roman Mortaria, Iron Age Bowls, Bronze Age Beakers and Neolithic Urns.
He also produces contemporary pottery inspired by those ancient shapes, but with modern functional glazes. These are fired in a large kiln fuelled with wood, which produces a pleasing earthy appearance.
He also teaches and runs pottery workshops.
