Artwey Group Show.
Artwey CIC is once again opening studios in the 18th century Weymouth Old Town Hall. This unique historic site dates back to Elizabeth 1 and the Civil War Crabchurch Conspiracy.
As part of ‘Open for Art’ a group of 15 artists and craftspeople will be hosting this show, with an eclectic range of work featuring paintings, photography, textiles, mosaics, printmaking and digital illustration. The diverse subject matter and styles cover landscapes, seascapes, floral studies and other natural forms, abstract images and textured, patterned wall hangings.
The venue itself is well worth a visit. Situated in the original Weymouth High Street near the quayside, the building has undergone careful restoration. This has been carried out enthusiastically by a group of volunteers, ‘The Guardians of the Old Town Hall’, another Community Interest Company. The Boot Inn, the oldest pub in Weymouth, conveniently located across the road, provides a welcome break for refreshments.
