I am a draughtsman by trade, now retired and a keen photographer, I am inspired by shapes, light and movement.

In October 2021 I submitted a successful panel for a Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society (LRPS), which was a culmination of 4 years work.

My style has changed and developed whilst going through that process and I am quite comfortable in the world of black and white.

I returned to photography to try to bring some balance back into my life. Photography suits my need for the ‘technical’ and the ‘creative’. I love making a picture with a benign piece of kit, using it to portray the scene before me. The camera does see things differently and the skill is being able to convey what was seen that day to the viewer.

In 2017 I did my first (and only, so far) 365 challenge and took a picture a day every day for a year, it was my way of reconnecting with my camera and to restore the balance from running the business.

I walk, a lot, and cycle, a bit – the camera is my constant companion whilst walking. Not so easy when cycling so I use my phone. As they say it doesn’t really matter what camera you use, because the best camera to have is the one you have with you.

I try hard to make the image in camera, thus negating the need for much post processing. Hopefully you will enjoy the images regardless of how they were taken and developed.
