Silvia is originally from Mexico, she married an Englishman and has lived in England for almost 30 years.

She is a Mathematician and has also a Master Degree in Mathematics. She has been a University Lecturer and she has done extensive work on computer programming .

Her Mother was a jeweller and her brother is a sculptor. Her first incursion in the Art world was through jewellery, she grew up helping her Mum making jewellery from an early age. She made (and still makes some) sterling silver pieces combining them with fused and dichroic glass, semi-precious stones, hand painted silk set in resin, crystals, pearls, etc.

Because of her Mexican heritage the use of colour comes natural to her, this is reflected both in her jewellery and her paintings.

As for her paintings, Silvia loves the qualities of liquid paint and she loves to show their fluidity and movement in her art. Her abstract paintings have a playful nature , pay them some attention and soon you will be identifying birds, creatures, plants, humans, etc in them.

Silvia has had her pieces exhibited in multiple fayres and venues.

'As an artist, I aim to create Art that conveys a message of celebration of life and nature, of vitality, of spontaneity, a positive view of life and the constant movement and change associated with it.

Working with mixed media allows me to be always exploring, always innovating.
