I studied for a Honours degree in Art & Design/Illustration with Cranfield University some 20 years ago. At the time printmaking and silhouette paper cut-outs were my preferred media. Later I began taking courses in Stained Glass at New Brewery Arts, in Cirencester, an interest and craft I have continued to pursue.
In 2017 I moved to Portland to immerse myrself in the wild and inspirational environment, which has since been reflected in my work. I walk the island, taking photographs of the tiniest detail; butterflies, wild flowers and raindrops, as well as the grand vistas of sea, sky and landscape. I meld these together in my stained glass designs, to create a flavour of Portland.
"Island life has given me a newfound ambition and has had the most positive impact on my creativity. Although it looks on the map a small island, I have found that the artistic possibilities are endless. This beautiful, historic and powerful place never ceases to astound and inspire me."
