Our En plein Air Painting day at Pennsylvania Castle took place on Wednesday 12 September.
18 Artists took part in the day, which turned out to be rather wet. But this didn’t dampen the spirits or enthusiasm (as our short video attests). There was a good mix of established en plein air artists and complete novices, but those with more experience were happy to advise others less confident. All the work which was produced on the day was exhibited in the Hayloft Café adjacent to Penn Castle on the 5/6/7 October. Despite not being able to offer refreshments as the Cafe had closed for the season, we had over 60 visitors and sold nearly £500 of artwork. A great event for Artwey, and one which we hope to be able to replicate next year.
A competition for the Public’s favourite painting (or work in progress) along with the chance to win a £50 voucher towards a finished painting, meant that we were able to collect email addresses and specifically invite the public to the Exhibition. 50 people came to see the artists at work.
